About Studiofave
Favour Adesina also known as Studiofave, is a 27-year-old multidisciplinary Nigerian-Canadian artist whose practice spans design, painting, music, writing and performance. Working across acrylic, oil, and watercolor, she creates richly layered compositions that combine elaborate color palettes, collage-like imagery, and tactile materials such as beads, clay, and cultural fabrics. Her work reflects a vibrant visual language shaped by both personal history and cross-cultural experiences.
Adesina was born and raised in Nigeria before moving to Canada at the age of 17. She later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Waterloo, Canada, then a Master’s degree in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, U.S. Her creative interests began early: participating in art and poetry exhibitions, while performing in various theatre productions. She also worked as a gallery assistant and intern at Nike Art Gallery in Lagos and placed 12th in the international AISEN West African Art Competition.
Adesina has built a diverse design career in architecture and product design. She interned at Leroy Street Studio in New York, contributing to the design of luxury residential interiors and assisting in curating material palettes and artwork for various eastern New York residences. She also heavily contributed to the design of the new 50,000-square-foot Kansas City Aquarium and later worked on the LEGOLAND Shanghai project while at FORREC Architects. During her graduate studies, she served as a research assistant for the Social Robotics Institute, audited the DALL·E AI platform, and acted as a lead product designer on Honda’s F1TENTH vehicle testing platform. After graduating, she worked as a Senior Product Designer at UPMC Health Plan, helping re-design the organization’s member healthcare portal.
In her her artistic practices, Adesina integrates self-taught techniques with the spatial and conceptual foundations developed through her architectural training. She has received Honorable Mentions in TERAVARNA’s 10th International Juried Art Competition and 15th Abstract International Juried Competition. Her work has been exhibited internationally, in Berlin, Toronto, and Montreal. She has also produced soundscape installations for the University of Waterloo’s School of Architecture, and was invited to serve as a teaching fellow at Carnegie Mellon University following the completion of her Master’s degree.
